August 2017: Cambodia Core Partner for SAVE

We are delighted to formally welcome the Cambodia Vulture Working Group (CVWG) as a Core Partner of SAVE. The working group is composed of NGOs and Government, and this step gives the Cambodia vulture teams new profile within SAVE, with a Board Member, and brings the total number of SAVE partners to 21!

BirdLife Cambodia and WCS remain SAVE Project Partners due to their respective roles in managing priority vulture work in Cambodia, but this addition of the working group formally brings in the wider partners including Ministry of Environment (Ung Sam Oeun), Forest Administration (Kry Masphal), WWF Cambodia (Rachel Crouthers & Phan Channa) and Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity (Oliver Gray-Read). BirdLife Cambodia continues to lead the main vulture project, and Naiky Ny is the new project leader – with Bou Vorsak, Sum Phearun and Jonathan Eames representing BirdLife Cambodia on the CVWG, whilst WCS Cambodia is represented by Simon Mahood.

We look forward to Naiky, Masphal and Vorsak’s attendance of the upcoming SAVE meeting in November, and take this opportunity to highlight this recent 5-minute film, with appreciation of Cambodia Ministry of Environment and WCS Cambodia Programme: https://www.facebook.com/wcscambodia.fb/videos/1514475721898336/
