Bangladesh Minister attends major live vulture event calling for ketoprofen ban
In Bangladesh a major live event, organised by IUCN Bangladesh and the Forest Department, was widely attended including by Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin, three prominent MPs, National vulture experts and SAVE/RSPB. It clearly called for a national ketoprofen ban, and highlighted the other priorities for conserving vultures.
There was national TV coverage of the messaging and the event, clearly conveying the key messages, highlighting the importance of engagement with the pharmaceutical industry and successfully promoting the extremely high profile of vulture conservation in Bangladesh. We look forward to further follow-up on this.
